Fame. Fortune. Flourishing. When is it going to be my turn? Seeing your friends sign huge contracts, get the job of their dreams and more – is beautiful and you’re genuinely happy for them, but do you find yourself looking at the mirror and saying “when will it be your turn to be celebrated?”
If that’s you right now nodding your head involuntarily as you read this post – I want you to actively stop doing this self-comparison thing. I’m all for wanting to be the best version of yourself and finding motivation in other people’s success stories, but when it becomes a thing where you begin to feel less accomplished or low, I’ve gotta stop you right there.
It’s been said countlessly before but I’m going to reinforce it by saying it again – no two paths in this life are the same, not even a son following in his father’s footsteps, everyone treads a new life path so you comparing your path to someone else’s does you no favors. Focus on what you want to achieve and go for it! Read about your chosen field, Google who has gone ahead of you, write out what you plan to achieve and give yourself a realistic time frame.
All things work together for good for those who love the Lord – so keep your relationship with God tight too!
