Hey darlings!
Happy new month! We’re really in the last month of the year 2024, wow. It’s been super eventful for me and in all I truly give thanks to God. In the last weekend of November I had the great pleasure of co-hosting my medical school’s UK reunion in my city and it was such a joy.
The day was quite hectic as I’m still exclusively breastfeeding so I literally had to pick up the catering and do the grocery shopping for the reunion all while pumping – thank God for mobile and discreet breast pumps!!
We got a beautiful and spacious Airbnb and interestingly enough, the home was owned by a senior doctor so it was a great talking point and point of motivation for us all as we continue in our respective careers!
After our rendezvous at the Airbnb, we headed to Nottingham’s Winter Wonderland where we enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
After this we made our way to our reservation at an all-you-can-eat buffet where some of us *cough* Samuel Davis *cough* really tested the truth of the name regardless of the capacity of their gastric cavities haha.
Following on from absolutely filling our bellies, we headed over to the airbnb where Seun was our fabulous host and we played lots of games whilst sharing our good news from the year. It was amazing hearing of each other’s wins and the opportunity to commune and reconnect in general.
Evidently we had tons of fun – many thanks to Joyce Peters Photography who captured these images, and had lots of drinks and snacks to keep the energy flowing. I’m really glad that we got to spend the time together and renewed our connections; it made me remember going along with my dad for his med school reunions and how they would all proudly bring their whole families for like show and tell haha. It annoyed me then but now that I’m attending my own, I get it haha. As I was an organizer I didn’t bring my little 3 month old but I’m sure in future editions these reunions will be decorated with our offsprings; the thought of it alone is endearing :’)
Till next time,
Dr. ETK xo
