September 4th..my blog’s 4th anniversary. 4 years guys. Lol I have made a date with this blog at least once a week for 4 years; it’s literally my baby. If it was a human it would be leaving me to go to school but it ain’t so I’m good haha.
But for real, every time this anniversary comes around I’m so awed that it’s still going on. Like how do I have this much content? Always having something to write every week is a blessing that I’m grateful to God for.
Over this year, I’ve had some amazing experiences! Let’s have a little stroll down memory lane shall we?
September 2017:
Highlights definitely included the photo shoot for the 3rd anniversary and the trip to Abuja for an IPas Training – a precursor for a change in my life 🙂
October 2017:
Went to Olumo rock for the first time and whilst at the top of the rock – I got the amazing news that I’d been selected as the IFMSA PreWHA Social Media and Public Relations Coordinator!
November 2017:
Went to the prestigious Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library and my brother became a graduate!
December 2017:
My medical school association celebrated World AIDS Day by having a community outreach, and I traveled to Qatar with my sister!
January 2018:
I traveled to Addis Ababa for the GIMAC and it was my birthday month!
February 2018:
I bared my soul a bit in tough times don’t last, tough people do as I was going through a rough patch (but I made it out alive hallelujah!) and I shared a colorful fashion post – shout out to MOV the photographer!
March 2018:
I commemorated International day for Zero Discrimination Day by raising awareness on the Photo Campaign I was coordinating, and I got a little deep and talked on my appearance.
April 2018:
I opened up about breaking up with a long term partner (it’s like I was really going through my emotions in February-April lol) & I introduced the Bowen Graduating Class of 2018 – that I happened to be a part of ☺️
May 2018:
The results were fully out – I finished medical school! Also, I traveled to Geneva for the Pre-World Health Assembly and the WHA itself, where I met the Director General Dr. Tedros – and also got invited to speak on self-initiated interventions for SRHR, and met a wonderful woman, Her Excellency Mrs. Toyin Saraki – May was gooooood lol
June 2018:
I traveled to Zimbabwe to deliver not one but TWO trainings, got to see Victoria Falls – and I graduated!
July 2018:
I got invited to speak at the TSL Africa Conference and Awards on how I balanced school with my many extra-curricular activities and unfortunately, my home was under attack by Landgrabbers.
August 2018:
Thanks to the media buzz – especially Vanguard newspapers and Social Media (you guys are the real MVPs) the government stepped in and resolved our issues – EFCC is even on the case of the perpetrators! Also my mom wrote her usual monthly article on marriage and family life 🙂
And here we are full circle in September 2018 🙂
What a year right!! I look forward to what God has in store – I’m sure it’s even more mind-boggling than what he’s done this year – trust me I couldn’t have envisaged what I experienced this year if I had tried 😂
To everyone waiting on God for something, keep being patient – He always pulls through!
Happy birthday ETP Blog xo
