THE PLAN OF GOD:
“And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”
Genesis 2:22-24 KJV
The Plan of God from the beginning of the world 🌍 (and which remains till the end of the world) is seen in the above passage. God, in His Power, made Adam and Eve. In His Wisdom, He instituted marriage. In His programme He joined both of them together and put them in the garden of Eden.
Through Thick And Thin:
Already we have seen that when Adam was in Eden, Eve was with him. The day Adam changed accommodation (left Eden) Eve went with him the next place he went. In the dawn of creation when everything was beautiful and excellent, they were together. When the curse came and things went sour, they were together. When family problems came and Cain killed Abel, they stayed together. When they were old, they stayed together.
This example manifestly reveals God’s plan. God, through His plan has left no stone unturned. And His plan from the beginning is the same through to the very end of the world 🌍. He is the Eternal Unchanging God.
We must understand that if God had wanted the “divorce-possible” in relationship when He created Eve He would have created other women and perhaps called their names Esther and Elizabeth.
Then He would have told Adam that should he have any problem with Eve he should leave her since he had provided Esther and Elizabeth as alternatives. He could also have created a man, possibly Albert and told Eve that should she have any difficulty relating with Adam, she only has to leave him for Albert. But No! God never did anything like that. Hence, we can infer that He intended for them to remain together through better or worse days.
Malachi 3:6 reads: “ For I am the LORD, I change not…”
God told those people in their time that though human laws may change, His plan concerning marriage has not changed. God is all wise and His laws are given out in Wisdom. Therefore, His laws never change. So, what He told the children of Israel in the passage, He tells us now; “ I am the LORD, I change not” Put otherwise, “My initial plan, decision and condition for marriage are still the same today.
Stay Together.
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
