STAYING TOGETHER
HYPOCRISY REJECTED:
“And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that He regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand. Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant. And did not He make one? Yet had He the residue of the Spirit. And wherefore one? That He might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that He hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.”
Malachi 2:13-16 KJV
The verses above reveal that these Israelites, having changed the plan of God for marriage, cried and prayed on the altar of God. But God told them categorically that He would not respond to their prayer because they had changed His original plan for marriage. And until they did the right thing concerning marriage He won’t so much as throw a glance in their direction. But they did not understand Him.
God was angry with them because they had put away, divorced the wives of their covenant. And He said that He hates putting away (separation, divorce). He made it clear that even though they had separated from the wives of their youth, the wives of their covenant and were married to another women, He recognised only the wives of their youth as their real wives, as long as those women remained alive.
This Truth is also revealed in Romans 7:1-2
“Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.”
Romans 7:1-2 KJV
The revelation in this passage is this. As long as the man you first married (and who was unmarried before you married him) remains alive, you CANNOT be separated from him and marry another man. He is the husband of your youth and vice Versa; the partner of your covenant. The woman (or the wife) is released or loosed only if her husband dies. Whether the husband is sick, weak, poor or whatever, as long as he is alive, the wife must stay with him.
May the Peace and Harmony from God Almighty rest upon us all, may we not be left behind in Rapture in JESUS Mighty Name Amen 🙏🏾.
