Goals For Children:
There must be neatly defined goals for your children. Lack of defined goals makes child training a jumbled, unsystematic and undirected affair. Remember that a child cannot set goals for himself. As a baby, the child is completely selfish and self-centred. If you deny him his desires, he becomes angry and aggressive. And were he not helpless he would be extremely destructive. If the child is permitted to continue on the self-centred world of infancy he will grow up to become a social misfit. That is why God wants you to set goals for your children. In HIS word, He talks about the Goals, Aims and Objectives for child training. He stated this explicitly when talking about Abraham.
“For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”
Genesis 18:19 KJV”
This is the singular purpose or goal for child training. You should bring up your children with an eye on their Christian Life, Devotion, and Love 💗 for Justice and Judgement. This should be your Spiritual goal for your children.
“Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood: That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:”
Psalms 144:11-12 KJV
In the verses above, children are regarded as plants. Plants don’t go to where they will receive nourishment. They get nourishment’s wherever they are. The case is the same when we talk about children. God has sent them into your family. They must find nourishment there. They must be led and directed there.
Again, they must fare well socially and physically. Your children must be as cornerstones ( Brilliant, Reliable and Promising) polished after the similitude of a palace. They must be fully developed in every sense. This should be part of your goal for your children.
God wants your children to be as steady, established and shining as cornerstones. This is why parents are told in Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

In Training Children, Purpose in your heart that they must be mentally stable and mature. When they grow up and start making decisions they should be able to make right decisions. In Luke 2:40,52 we find a perfect example of an all-round growth.
“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon Him.
And JESUS increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”
Luke 2:40, 52 KJV
We read that JESUS “waxed Strong in Spirit”. You must have a desire that like the child JESUS, your children will wax strong in the Spirit of God. Not that alone, He was “filled with Wisdom”
That is a mental goal. Besides, He “ increased in Favour with God and man” This is the fulfilment of a social goal. Your children must be trained with the purpose of making them Spiritually, mentally and socially sound. These should be your goals for your children and with the help of the Holy Spirit, the Word and the Grace of God you will fulfil these goals in JESUS Mighty Name Amen 🙏🏾.
