Hey People! Yes you read that title correctly – Bowen University Teaching Hospital’s first set of Medical Doctors are ready to exit the uterus! Excuse the medical pun, but this is amazing news and I’m super excited to be the first to share the news with you all.
“Bowen has Medicine?” Tends to be the general response whenever I talk about my medical school and so here’s the answer to that question – not only does Bowen University run a Medical program, it has a 600 level, fully equipped final year set that is about embarking on their glorious final year week; it’s certainly been a long time coming. In order for you all to get a glimpse of the struggles they encountered along the years of training as the university’s pioneer set, let’s take a walk down memory lane:

This is a shot from agessss back, way before any of them smelt the insides of a surgical theatre in the teaching hospital, you can still see the glee of “fresh medical students” on their countenances.
Ah, when they still had time for team sports…the good days *sigh*
Their celebrity musician, JBlaze, had to make bold fashion moves to keep his fans speculating.
Alpha Med guys in action!
This right here is the apt image of what a medical student feels like when going through professional exams, most especially the very first one when you have to know absolutely everything about the human body – anatomically, physiologically and biochemically – the struggle is real!
But they made it!! Look at them glistening at their thanksgiving like bosses! Time to cross over to the clinical phase where they start to put on white coats and get a feel of the profession they’ve desired for so long.
Can you see the stern utmost seriousness in these would-be surgeons? First time in the surgical theatre was a day that had to go down in history – and here you have it.
But it’s not always serious – sometimes they go on class excursions! Here they are taking a chill pill (yes, that was another medical pun) at the highly visited Olumo Rock, during their community medicine posting.
Tomorrow’s – This year’s doctors!
More chillinggggg!
And there you have it ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Alpha Med, Bowen University Teaching Hospital’s class of 2016; set and ready to save lives.
