Hey loves! How’s the lockdown going in your part of the world? It’s interesting how we just adapt to change that we can’t escape isn’t it? You just have to find a way to make peace with the new reality, be it working from home, being in your house for weeks on end…but here we are, adapting.
But what about when you can change something? When you are in a situation you don’t particularly enjoy but have become adapted to it, so even though you have the option of exiting…you’re hesitant.
What do you do then?
You should weigh your options, objectively. What makes you want to leave, are these reasons rational or not? Can they be solved by more communication with the offending party?
Then think about what makes you want to stay, is it something inherent in the person, or is it an ideal you’ve painted around them? Are the qualities you delight in that person truly unique or you’re just unwilling to look elsewhere because of the fear of the unknown, whilst cushioned by the comfort of the known.
I can’t make your mind up for you. But I can help you to think with just a tad more clarity. Look at the situation from an outsider’s wise perspective, and make a decision.
Till next time,
Dr. ETP xo
