Your girl went to Portugal and had the time of her life with some amazing women – and this blogpost is here to give you an overview of the lit-ness! [lit: social media slang to express a great time.]
We’ve been looking forward to this trip since December when Hannah had her traditional wedding and after a year like 2020, a trip abroad was something we all needed! Luckily for us, neither Portugal or UK required that we needed to do COVID-19 tests as at when we were going so we just packed our stuff and headed off!

We stayed at the elegant Sheraton Cascais hotel – Cascais is like the St. Tropez of Portugal says our Uber-driver Paul (who we got the contact details of and served us throughout the trip – it’s good to be a nice person, plus he had a large van so we could move as one group lol) and it definitely was a beautiful resort!

Arrival day was for chilling and planning a surprise hen-do – which was just a chilled pyjama party for the bridesmaids really, just a place to eat snacks, practice how to dance Jerusalema 😂 and discuss final logistics for the big day!

The next day was the day we’d all been waiting for – Hannah’s Wedding day!! We set off from the hotel and our designated Uber DJ – Isata – hooked us up with hype music – even Paul danced along as he drove 😂

As the venue was a beautiful villa, everyone got ready in the rustic rooms and we had fun whilst we were at it with music in the background and high spirits all around. Few photos and some prayers later – we were ready to walk our babygirl down the aisle.

The wedding was beautiful; the gospel music, the Groom’s prayer walk, the personalized vows, succinct sermon – it all came together so well and yours truly cried Lool. I love love!

Reception time came and we had a whole bunch of pictures to take and let me tell you that bridal parties actually put in so much work because those photos become such a bother after a while but you gotta keep your energy up all the same 😂

The rest of the event was for the dinner, where we had heart-warming speeches, the cutting of the cake and then the dance floor opened up and we danced the night away!

The next morning we had a delicious breakfast and everyone went off to do things in small groups – of course I went to the pool!

After chilling in the pool and a session at the sauna we all headed off to the capital – Lisbon – to do a city tour on GoCars! These little cars are like tricycles (glorified kekes 😂) and they’re so fun to drive! Only thing is that they can’t reverse – you have to get out and push it – and at a point 4 out of 5 of us had to do this when we needed to make a U-turn – only Marian made the turn in one go 😂

We drove to a beautiful museum and then had a pit stop at a famous bakery called Pasteis de Belem – like the GoCar actually had a tour inbuilt into the GPS so we followed it to these locations. Getting back however – some of us got lost when the GPS stopped working and found themselves on the motorway – thanks to Google Maps/Ways, they found their way back 😂❤️

We enjoyed different types of food throughout our stay in Portugal and as a resident foodie you know that made me super happy Lool. Overall it was a beautiful trip, I loved every minute of it!
More photos for good measureeee:

Till next time,
