Hey beauties!
So now that I’m a free bird, I’ve taken to Lagos to kickstart my wait for graduation next month – and you already know I am always up for the best time! The first event I went to was the Media Room Hub’s anniversary that was hosted by Cointreau. My cousin Fola Francis, who I’ve co-written this post with was my link! My cousin is the plug y’all. So sit tight and let’s go on a ride to see how fun Sunday 6th was!
Fola Francis
I took a long break from writing to focus on some personal stuff, like the activation of my clothing line, which has been doing great, I’ve been super excited about it.
Enough chitchat about my personal life, you already know the only reason I’m writing is because I’m bringing you the tea on the latest event I graced in Lagos, so I might as well dive into it.
Sunday the sixth of May 2018, Azuka Ogujiuba – or Zukiliciouz like she’s fondly called, celebrated the first year anniversary of her media house ‘Media Room Hub’, hosted by ‘Cointreau’.
Aunty Azuka didn’t come to play at all, the event was very lush and intimate, everyone who’s anyone in the entertainment, fashion, and media industry was present, I’m talking about the likes of Mo Abudu, Charles Otudor, Omotola Jalade, Betty Irabor, Adebola Williams, Monalisa Chinda, Olisa Adibua, Julius Agwu, Moriam Musa, Bovi, Swanky Jerry, Lolo, Idia Aisien, Bolanle Olukanni, Seyi Shay just to mention a few.
My outfit was pretty casual because I wasn’t planning on doing too much, I wore a Giorgio Armani shirt paired with a black pant from Jasper and my old Oxford shoes. Honestly, when I got to the venue I thought to myself, this is just an excuse to throw a lux party and let people know you are not their mate, and we got the message loud and clear. The venue was “The Backyard” in VI, one of the most popping spots right now in Lagos.
There was a panel session that discussed “corporate reputation in the area of social media”. The speakers were Toyosi Etim Effiong, Patricia Obozuwa, Tosin Adefeko, Ogochukwu Ekezie Ekaidem, Chizor Malize, and Nkiru Olumide Ojo.
This was followed by the cutting of the anniversary cake.
Later on, there was a special performance by Tiwa Savage, plus an endless supply of drinks and chops to get us into the vibe, and when I say us, I mean me. Really, it was an amazing event, and I wish MRH a happy anniversary.

So Fola’s given you the tea as he’s a regular in these circles (he’s a personal stylist alongside fashion writer and fashion designer among other talents he possesses) but as a newcomer, I’d like to give you my angle. So I came dressed in my usual modest manner and was handed complimentary hand lotion which smells nice and is actually a really good moisturizer. Took some photos on the orange carpet and looked out for my cousin who being the life of the party, found me almost immediately.
Decided to take the opportunity to try out the famed Backyard Lagos’ food – got a chicken & avocado club sandwich – the food was yummy and the portions were large – good thing I had Fola to help me haha.
We listened to the chat show and a few opening performances before the amazing Tiwa Savage showed up! She sang live guys, and sounded perfect.
After her performance she was super nice and I got a couple selfies with her y’all!
All in all, the event was beautiful! Happy one year anniversary to Media Room Hub! More successes 🥂
