Happy new year everyone! First post in the new year is from a lovely experience I had at Dooney’s Kitchen!
Backstory: I’ve followed @Dooneyskitchen on Instagram for years; whenever I wanted to make a Nigerian food I hadn’t made in a while and I didn’t want my mom to know I’d gotten rusty (lol) I’d just check her blog for the recipe – and the best thing about her blog is how she finds the simplest ways to make the yummiest meals!
So when she opened a restaurant in Lagos, I put it on my to-do list to visit – having been tempted numerously by her videos on IG haha.
Upon arrival, I was taken aback by the beautiful wall decor at the back of the restaurant; the whole place had an artistic feel – everything came across as intentionally picked and knowing Dooney’s eye for decor, I’m certain all the furniture was hand-picked expertly.
We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to the Wednesday & Thursday menu (yes, they have different menus for different days) and I chose the whole grilled yajichurri fish whilst my sister went for the Ikoyi Club sandwich and Apapa Club Sandwich; and we had Pina Coladas (our favorite drink by virtue of our dad ordering it for us a lot when we went out as younger children haha).

I must admit, a 45 minute wait for food did seem a bit much, so I’d advise not being very hungry when going because that wait can do a lot of damage lol, but when our food finally came it was certainly delightful!
Prepared to perfection and presented beautifully, our meals made our Dooney’s Kitchen Experience worth the hype!
I’d definitely advise my readers to treat themselves to a meal at Dooney’s Kitchen, it’s on the first floor in Lennox Mall, Lekki Phase 1, and super easy to access!
I’d love to hear your experience when you try it, please let me know!
Till next time,
ETP xo
