Hey everyone! It’s been a bit of a long while since we’ve had a feature on someone, and so I’m glad to break that streak by interviewing the amazing Emmanuel Sansi. I could go on and on about him but so he’ll have more things to say I’ll stop here and let you get to know him in his words!
ETP: So what’s your full name?
My name is Emmanuel Adedeji Olugbenga Sansi.
ETP: Let’s get through the basics: what do you do, your school, level, course?
Lol… I am a 500 level Mechanical engineering student of Afe babalola University Ado-Ekiti. I love to sing and play musical instruments.
ETP: How did you get into ministry?
Well, I sincerely believe I was born into this ministry. I started having affinity for playing drums when I was only a year old.
ETP: Wow! So when did you properly start?How long ago was that?
But I fully matured when I was 9 years old of age. So from then till now it’s been 11 years.
ETP: When was the moment you knew this was something you really wanted to do?
The moment came when I discovered that any gathering I found myself I was drawn to go and assist the musical ministry in form of drumming or playing piano.
ETP: What were the challenges you faced when you firstly began?
A very big challenge was that when I was still very young, it was automatically assumed that I didn’t have what it takes to play musical instruments. I think my size contributed to that challenge. So I had to actually force my way and show that it’s not by size but focused determination.
ETP: How did you fight through them?
At times I used to cry when they prevented me from doing what I love to do. And also it was in the church so I had this mentality that I’m supposed to be allowed. I just never gave up on becoming a good instrumentalist.
ETP: What’s your personal philosophy of life?
Oh that’s simple. Whatever happens in your life is a result of your thinking. You are always a product of your actions. So always think big. Expand your horizon and the sky is the limit.
ETP: How do you balance your academic life with your ministry work?
It’s by God’s grace and mercy. Sometimes I might miss the balance. But when you do the right thing, at the right time, in the right place, with the right people, in God’s will; there is bound to be the balance you need.
ETP: If there’s something you could change, what would it be?
Hahahaha, sincerely I am excited by the way God has made me. I wouldn’t change anything!
ETP: What tips or advice can you share with any upcoming ministers?
A very good tip and piece of advice I will give is from actual experience. When you receive the calling of God in this ministry, always remember you’re not in it to get fame but to glorify his name. That’s the major objective. God will reward your labour of love with what he pleases
