*heaves a sigh of immense joy*
This week my family returned to Helsinki to celebrate with Joyce as she graduated with a Masters in Human Nutrition and Food Behavior! It’s been a summer of celebration for us and so a chance to have a family holiday together was gladly welcomed!

Joyce worked really hard on this masters and I’m so proud of her for sticking it through, moving to a new country on her own, making new friends and generally just finding herself, her likes, interests and following them through.

After the graduation we had a beautiful dinner with our family friends the Ndukwe’s! They hosted us to a three course meal at their restaurant which we really enjoyed! They were the ones that got us even talking about Joyce doing her masters in Finland years ago, so it was beautiful to celebrate with them as the whole journey came full circle.

It was Samuel’s first time in the European Union – the shege we experienced in getting the Schengen visa was unreal, I truly am counting down till he becomes a British citizen, that green passport will have you fighting for your right to travel in peace! Even when we were coming back, I was through immigration in 5 mins whereas Samuel’s queue on the non-British passport took over 2 hours! But back to his experience, we enjoyed showing him around the city, the beach and just seeing the places that we had previously only been seeing photos of from Joyce haha.

My parents got us all a lovely airbnb so we truly felt closer by the end of the trip, and I could not have asked for it to have been any better, the love was palpable all through. Mum brought peppers and tomatoes from London because my dad (and my husband) really have to eat pepper each day to be okay hahaha; Samuel was so happy when I made Jollof rice and peppered fish (well he helped with the fish) for dinner after a day out about the city!

We had several photoshoots with Joyce and I am so excited for the outcomes because the raw shots in the camera reel were amazing already!
I thank God for the blessing of growing gracefully in our family, they’ve happily welcomed Samuel as their new firstborn – which I’m here for completely haha – we all just got on so well, my parents gave us really great advice for our future which honestly couldn’t have been bought.

Overall, we had a blissful family holiday which cemented how strong our bond is and just has me in my feels. God is amazing truly, nothing He can’t do. Congratulations to my beautiful and brilliant sister Joyce once more! I pray God blesses this new phase of her life with ease in Jesus name amen!
Till next time,
Dr ETK xo
