Guyssss
Yesterday my son and I were at the hospital emergency department. So both of us have tonsillitis and have been taking antibiotics, but overnight our boy was pumping absolutely everything he ate and was getting really low on energy so we had to take him in. While I was up at night taking care of him, I ate an apple – having eaten one 4 hours earlier – that’s how my tongue started itching uncontrollably. I literally had to scratch my tongue with my nails! Took an antihistamine but it did nothing – it was only after I gargled a bit of listerine that I was able to sleep.

Only for me to wake up to a swollen tongue, swollen neck, and my voice was like I had a hot potato in my mouth – it was a full blown allergic reaction! I could still breathe okay but couldn’t speak properly so Samuel called 111on my behalf and I ended up in ED – all at the same time Samuel also called 111 for our boy due to the excessive vomiting and diarrhea – that’s how we all ended up in hospital!
By the grace of God, we were treated super quickly – allergic reactions are not to be left waiting so I got prescribed meds promptly as well as had blood tests taken, while Samuel took care of our boy at the children’s ED – he had a high fever and low blood sugar – so Samuel was giving him a Fluid challenge at the request of the doctor, with glucose rehydration water and he thankfully passed by not vomiting anything and was discharged home.

To say I’m grateful for my husband would be an understatement. He has always stood by us, protected and provided for us and yesterday he held us down and stayed calm and collected through it all. Thank you Jesus for the blessing that is Samuel Olowokandi ❤️

In other news – I hit my pre-pregnancy weight!! It’s amazing what staying consistent with 10k steps per day, 4 days of 1 hour gym sessions a week, and eating a healthy diet under intermittent fasting can do! I lost it a lost faster than last time, I guess my body has gotten more efficient with weight loss from the experience haha!
Thank you Jesus for saving my life and giving me more time to fulfill your purpose for my existence. I pray for the grace to be your willing and yielding vessel always in Jesus name amen.
Till next time,
Dr ETK xo
