Hi loves!
Yesterday I did the Herculean task of driving a total of 7 hours with my 10 month old son: to London and back to Nottingham!! We went to visit his grandparents and celebrate with my close friends Hannah and Joe, as they dedicated their twin boys to God and celebrated their first birthday.

It was an emotionally charged day in every positive way; right from my son sitting in the living room of the home that I moved into as an 8 year old. Back then, I couldn’t have pictured the life I’m living now. He played with his grandma while I fixed her WhatsApp haha, and even ate spicy beans – first time eating actual spicy food and he got quite a lot in, though he finished an entire sippy cup of water afterwards haha. I’m proud of him, he’s growing his Yoruba genes haha. Speaking of Yoruba, my mom in law’s visa was approved and she’s coming back next month!! I’m so so happy, I can’t wait to see how she and Nathan get on, she left a 5.5 month old and will be returning to an almost one year old – he has changed SO MUCH!!

Over at the dedication, it felt like a full circle moment, the summer before we had met at this very same venue to celebrate Hannah’s baby shower – and we were both pregnant. Now, we’re back dedicating these beautiful boys to the Lord and everyone is in good health and living in joy – it truly is such a blessing and I don’t take it for granted at all. I’m so big on stepping back to gaze at the bigger picture – it helps to ground me and makes me more appreciative of every single thing in my life, no matter how mundane it may seem. I think it’s my way of keeping joy at the forefront and I quite like it.

Big ups my son Nathan for sleeping peacefully through both long trips and making what seemed like a huge task actually a whole lot easier to manage – God bless you my love! And shout out to my sister Joyce who proactively photographed everyone and gave the finished photos to us the very same day!! Efficiency on steroids!

Till next time,
Dr ETK xo
