Hey lovelies,
I hope you’re doing well and enjoying the weekend? Today, June 23rd 2024 is my brother’s first court wedding anniversary, and I’m overjoyed.
This time last year, I had mixed emotions, I was overwhelmed with joy for the celebration we were having but also sad that my parents had once again, missed the nuptials of their child – this time their only son – not up to a year after missing my wedding.
But this year, the story has completely changed – my brother and sister-in-law welcomed a beautiful new baby girl a few weeks ago which broke the ice in the family and brought in an unspeakable joy. You’ll see that I alluded to this joy in my recent post titled gratitude, as I was greatly taken aback by the complete change of events.
My brother’s union, like mine, wasn’t warmly welcomed by all and so it had to face painful trials – but those flames are now what brandished their love with the resilience that is respected by all who witness it today.
Sometimes making a decision for yourself will come with strong opposition and that is when you need God the most; you need Him to clarify that He is the one leading you every step of the way so that you can stand in that assurance that you are walking in His will, no matter what you face. This is very important because many people are so quick to allude challenges to your life as “proof” that what you are doing is not in God’s plan – but that’s not always the case. The ability to decipher when this is applicable or not lies with God – so you have to ask Him to reveal it to you.
Back to my siblings, I am so proud of you both for holding on to your faith and love for God and being able to see the other side of that story. I pray that as you start year two with your brand new second child, God will double your blessings on every side in Jesus name. I love you so so much!
Till next time,
Dr. ETK
