Hey everyone! Some of you may know that I’m interested in politics, most especially Medical Politics as I’m all for positive change in the health sector.
So I was at UniLag last weekend for the 39th general assembly (GA) of the Nigerian Medical Students Association (NiMSA) hosted by the Association of Medical Students, University of Lagos (AMSUL). It was graced by 43 medical schools across the Federation and also saw to the emergence of a new set of executive council members who were immediately sworn in, in accordance with the supreme NiMSA constitution by the outgoing president, Mr Seriki Murithadarh Ishola (LASUCOM) but shall officially assume office on the 1st January, 2016.
Below are the new Executives:
President — Haruna Musa Kereng (Bingham university)
Vice President (internal affairs) — Ajibade Phillips (Bowen university)
Vice President (external affairs) — Anthony Amawu (University of Calabar)
Standing Committee on Research & Education (SCORE) — Kogi state university
Standing Committee on Project Implementation (SCOPI) — University of Lagos
Standing Committee on Professional Exchange (SCOPE) — Ebonyi state university
Standing Committee on Environment and Population Activities (SCOEPA) — Bayero university, Kano
Standing Committee on Reproductive health and AIDS (SCORA) — University of Abuja
Standing Committee on human Right and Peace (SCORP) — University of Maiduguri
Standing Committee on Projects and Training (SCOPT) — University of Portharcourt
Standing Committee on Medical Education (SCOME) — University of Jos
Standing Committee on Public Health — Olabisi Onabanjo University
Below are the medical schools that won the rights to hold the following official NiMSA programs:

General Assembly — Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
Congratulations to all the new executives, and I pray the new President fills his new cabinet (Secretary General, Financial Secretary, Public Relations Officer among other appointments) with character worthy medical students – so as to move the association even further.
