It’s really been a year since I walked out of the hospital with my beautiful baby boy. Wow. It feels surreal. I printed a photo from each of his month-versarys and the journey feels like I know of every moment because I could remember the events surrounding each photo – but at the same time it felt so fast too. I’ve enjoyed it so much.

My son is a dream. Every phase blended into the next so naturally, he sat up unassisted at 4 months, started standing and cruising around his crib at 6 months (to my utmost surprise lol) and took his first steps at 10 months. By his first birthday he was scurrying across the garden! No teething drama, no difficulty weaning, he literally is the answer to my prayers.

We’ve been so happy with him in our lives, to know him is truly to love him because you can’t help but smile at his delightful face. He is super social and makes friends readily, his transition into nursery care itself was fantastic aside him practically catching what seemed like all the illnesses in the first 2 days lol, but he’s a lot stronger now and hasn’t had to be excused from nursery due to illness in a while, seems his immune system built up!

When a child that you laboured with for 4 days comes out and makes your life abundantly better, it’s only right that you celebrate him with your loved ones, which is exactly what we did – oh was the joy palpable! Major thanks to my lovely friends and family that showed up, your decision to travel from near and far to love on us was not taken for granted!

I pray that he continues to grow in strength, knowledge, and good health in Jesus name! May we also be blessed with all the knowledge needed to raise him in the way of the Lord always in Jesus name amen!

So how did the event go? It was a splendid day that opened with prayer by my beautiful mother

Of course I had a mini shoot of my own because it’s also my first year of motherhood being celebrated!!!

Till next time,
Dr ETK xo
