Hey loves!
Before I get into today’s post let me put my girlies onto Fenty’s heat protectant (The Protective type) – I got a travel size bottle to test it but I will definitely get the full size because WOW! One product conditioning, protecting, glossing and making my hair lightweight enough to sway on its own?? Amazing work!! If you’re looking to be able to do an actually silky silk press – Fenty is the way to go – just look at my results!! This is not sponsored I just wanted to share for anyone else who hasn’t even had an actually silky silk press at home like me before!

Right so to the actual point of this post: contentment. I grew up always being reminded of the power of being content, how it brings peace because it excuses you from the rat race of comparison with others, since you are happy with yourself/what you have. This can be awesome advice but it can also be taken into overdrive which then trickles into a lack of drive to be better.
My parents used to balance this advice by saying whilst you are happy with your achievements – make sure it is YOUR best. Put your all so that whatever results you attain reflects your excellence – that way your contentment is grounded in knowing that this outcome is from your best.
It’s very okay to acknowledge that you are on a journey towards excellence and sometimes that journey has challenges and waiting periods when you question the purpose of the whole process – my advice is not to lose sight of why you started, that might look like having a poster of what you think your life would look like when you attain the goal, a holiday you plan to take when you get there – whatever your goal’s attainment looks like – have a way of visually reminding yourself of it. At least that’s what I do anyways.
So yeah, in summary your contentment doesn’t negate your drive for success – it just gives you permission to have peace during the process – rather than staying in a state of unrest.
Enjoy the journey.
